Don’t be fooled though, my education got off to a rocky start - I almost failed preschool because I couldn't skip. I’ve never been terribly graceful. I eventually overcame this and can confidently say I love skipping along with your children.
I use photographs and trinkets as my memory bank.
When photographing my life, my goal is to gift myself with the ability to
go back in time and remember what it felt like when the photo was taken.
At first, this was during traveling. Turns out I’m not the only one who enjoys exploring - My great grandmother's emigration record indicates she arrived in Atlantic City to work as a photographer.
Unlike me, she traveled for loftier goals than food and drink.
Now, as a spouse and parent, the photographs I create are deeply emotional.
I can hear my children laughing, sometimes at their own jokes...
...sometimes directly at me.
I can remember just how much my heart broke when they were sad, and how good that snuggle felt.
I can still smell them...you know that scent you can only tolerate of your own kids.
And every once and awhile, it's nice to remember I've been having a blast too!
